Bensham & Saltwell community voting box

Through late June, July and August 2012 the Saltwell community voting box was located in places around Saltwell. It was placed in each location for a period of time with a new question asked every few days. The aim was to have questions from the community of Saltwell.

Questions could be either multi-choice or based on a scale (such as strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree)

The box has a question on the screen and can be answered by turning the dial and pressing the button. Questions came from the community itself; so people could ask other community members and find out what they think on subjects that they felt were relevant to the community.

The purpose was to develop an idea of the issues that concern the people who live and work in Saltwell and hopefully allow an opportunity to understand what these are and how they can be acted upon. People will learn more about what concerns their community and will also create future possible directions and actions for the Saltwell Road Project and the community.

It was initially presented as part of the Bensham & Saltwell Community Festival on 24th June 2012 alongside information about the Saltwell Road Project and then placed in:

Bensham Grove Community Centre, Sidney Grove from 27 June to 6 July 2012

Dominic’s Cafe, Saltwell Road from 10 to 21 July 2012

Saltwell Road Post Office, Saltwell Road from 24 July to 4 August 2012

St Chads Community Project, Liddell Terrace from 6 to 29 August 2012
